Awesome Totally Awesome 10 Presents Fall Thoughts

The 10: Fall Thoughts …

With Fall soon approaching, we here at Class are hard at work putting the finishing touches on our year-end releases. The drop started out one way and ended up something totally different.

Running your own business is the most beautiful frustration you will ever experience. The day-to-day challenges that seem to go hand in hand with managing your own company can drive you nuts. When it gets to be too much, I throw on my headphones and zone out.

I had to do that a lot this week.

Here are ten random thoughts from this week.

10. That last Tribe album I did not like it. That hurts me to say because I pretty much love whatever they do. I had been waiting on a reunion album for so long, and that just wasn’t the one. Now, it was probably a bad idea on my part to think they would find the fountain of youth and give me “Low-End Theory 2.” But selfishly that’s really what I wanted. It had to have been tough on the rest of the group when Phife passed in the process of making the album. I get it. I wish they had more time together. Would that automatically mean doper music? Maybe. It definitely wouldn’t have hurt the process.

9. I think “Murder She Wrote” is one of the greatest television mystery shows. A tale about a mystery writer who lives in the fictional town of Cabot Cove who seems to encounter a murder everywhere she goes. Literally, EVERYWHERE she goes. She somehow convinces the local law enforcement to let her help them in solving the various murders. She always managed to somehow solve the case before they did. She was always so pleasant, but it had to be mentally exhausting seeing so many dead bodies. The show lasted twelve seasons, so you do the math.

8. If Biggie and Tupac somehow managed to squash their beef before they died and made an album together, would that album be considered the greatest album in hip-hop? They had access to any and every hot producer at the time. Both were at the top of their respective careers. I am curious to know if there is music that exists that was made by the duo during happier times.

7. Not impressed with the trailer for “Shazaam” at all. I am really hoping that they went back in the tuck and have something else up their sleeves. It looks super cheesy right now.

6. Not having the NBA during the summer months is torture. I occupy my need by watching clips from past seasons on YouTube. I need the season to start soon though. This is going to be a pretty interesting season. Barring any injuries, is Golden State a lock to win the title again this year? I feel like teams got better, but none good enough to cut the head off that Golden State monster. This will probably be the last season the roster looks like it does, so this is going to be fun to watch.

5. With all the albums that dropped this year, I still don’t think there has been a lot of great music. We’ve had some good music, some really good music. But, great? The only album that really has stayed on repeat for me is Bas’s “Milky Way.” solid drop from the Dreamville family.

4. I had a dope conversation with a buddy the other day. We started talking about the possibilities of time travel. If you could have access to a time machine, what recording session from any record in history would you sit in on? I couldn’t give him a solid answer, but that’s a really good question.

3. I was thinking that a “Married with Children” reboot would be really dope right about now. My version would focus on Kelly and Bud having families. They all live in their parents’ old house. Marcy and Jefferson would still be neighbors. Al’s shoe company closes, so he retires to Florida with Peg. They wouldn’t be regulars but would drop in on occasion. Kelly is married with kids while Bud is married and living with his family in the basement. You’re welcome!

2. You can name a lot of foods that hit the spot at that right time, but you can not name a food that hits that spot harder than fresh off the grill White Castle. In a strange way, it’s become comfort food for me. Sure my stomach probably hates me for it, but I feel like it’s worth it. I’m here for a good time not a long time, right?

1. With this season of “Power” already over, I am in that space where I need to find another show to scratch that Netflix itch. I think I am going to check out “Ozark.” I have heard a bunch of good things about it. I was hoping there would be a new season of “Stranger Things” coming soon, but it looks like We all have to wait until 2019 to find out what’s going down in the Upside-Down.
